• Past psychological and physical child abuse. Few details are given.

• Possible past child suicide mentioned (it’s left ambiguous whether or not it was suicide).

• A couple of lines that can be read as suicide ideation.

• There is mention of slavery and of a woman being assaulted.

• Typical Age of Sail corporal punishment, child labour, injuries (some fatal), and shipwrecks with multiple drownings.
