Forthcoming blog tour, and 5 stars for Red Moon Rising

To mark the upcoming release of Shifting Sands, I’m going to be embarking on a blog tour arranged by the lovely Will at Pride Promotions. I’ll post more details nearer the time, but a quick heads-up that an Amazon gift certificate will be on offer during the tour!

Having poured boiling water over my foot this morning, I thought that set the tone for the day. I was wrong – I’ve just found out that one of the wonderful crew at The Romance Reviews has rated Red Moon Rising as a Top Pick:

…a fast-paced, well-written and dynamic multi-layered story line…With vividly described settings and well developed supporting characters, this M/M romance is one that captured my heart from start to finish.

Red Moon Rising has received a lovely 4.5 Sweet Peas review from PizzyGirl at Mrs Condit & Friends Read Books, coincidentally on the day that it’s released on Amazon.

“If you are a fan of shifters, I highly recommend this series.”

Of guest-blogging, reviews, and pants

Taylor Brooks has very kindly hosted me as part of her new feature, Tuesday 20, in which she showcases the first twenty lines of a new or current release. Red Moon Rising is the featured book this week.

Today is a busy day for more than just the Norwegian Curling Team’s pants* (though they too have been busy out on the ice in Sochi), because A Liar’s Moon has received a lovely review from Robyn Elliot at The Romance Reviews. Thanks for the review, Robyn, and I’m delighted you enjoyed the book!

“I would definitely recommend this book for readers who like their M/M characters with flesh on the bones, so to speak, and who enjoy shifter stories involving themes of passion, betrayal and the courage to love. A book to curl up with, with a glass of red wine and a crackling fire. Just don’t open the curtains if the moon is waxing high.”

*Just in case anyone has missed the joy of the Norwegian Curling Team’s pants:

They even have their own facebook page, which I may or may not be following.

Red Moon Rising – release day and excerpt

Well, the title says it all. 🙂 Red Moon Rising is out today, and available from Siren BookStrand with a 15% new-release discount. It’s the third book in my Strength of the Pack series.

Caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, Tristan Howe is abducted and imprisoned by a pack at war with his own. His future looks bleak until he finds an unexpected ally in enemy pack member, Colby Williams. A fragile bond develops between them as they escape together.

Safely back with his own pack, Tristan finds his feelings for Colby are more than just gratitude for being rescued. He’s delighted to learn that they’re reciprocated, and even more excited to realize he and Colby are mates.

But idealistic Tristan finally has to face up to the fact that even true love might not be enough to defeat the forces ranged against them—not least his pack-mates’ suspicion and hostility toward Colby, and a mate so scarred by his abusive past that he doesn’t know how to be free. All Tristan can do is try.

And to celebrate a lovely, sunny release day, here’s a little PG excerpt:

Tristan stretched contentedly. He could smell coffee and the unidentifiable mixture of scents that spelled home. And then he remembered and sat up with a gasp, desperate to know if this was real or a dream.

“Easy, Tris,” Bryce said, from where he was sitting next to his bed. He reached out to stroke Tristan’s hair. “You’re safe.”

The familiar touch and voice, things that had grounded him through his teenage years and had never once let him down, were too much for Tristan. He choked Bryce’s name and threw himself into his waiting arms.

“Shh, you’re home, you’re okay,” Bryce was murmuring over and over, rubbing circles on Tristan’s back that were steady and strong, and so unlike his voice which was husky and strained.

It was his stomach grumbling that finally caused Tristan to draw back. He was starving. The last thing he’d eaten was that god-awful stew—

“Colby,” he said, as it came crashing back to him. “Where’s Colby? What happened?” Continue reading “Red Moon Rising – release day and excerpt”

NOTE: there are two scenes early on in the book involving dubious consent. They are not between the two main characters and are very brief.

Strength of the Pack #3: Red Moon Rising

I’m pleased to share that I’ve just signed the contract for the third book in the Strength of the Pack series, Red Moon Rising. It’s due to be released in February next year.

I came so close to calling this series the Argent series, but eventually decided against it because while that strand of shifter mythology is key to what happens in the books, I felt it might give the impression, wrongly, that the whole series revolves around one character. As the books are getting written and the relationships between pack members, old and new, are developing, it’s becoming clear to me that I made the right decision. No wolf is an island, and all that. Especially not this lot.
